Description The Caregiving & Counselling program at Columbia is unique in that it incorporates courses in psychology, biblical studies, and theology to offer holistic insight into the human condition. The program incorporates the best of these academic disciplines and offers students a foundation for integrating Christian faith with current psychological research and practice. The purpose of the program is twofold. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for working within human services organizations. In addition, students will be prepared for additional education in the helping professions, particularly graduate studies in counselling psychology and human services. Caregiving & Counselling provides an undergraduate academic foundation for a variety of occupations within the people helping professions. Career Path Options: The student will be equipped with the knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in social services agencies, church and parachurch programs, and community organizations and groups. Future Education Possibilities: The degree provides the prerequisites for application to programs in counseling psychology, pastoral counseling, and other human services programs at seminaries and other colleges or universities.
